Jameson and Lamar’s Divine Day

March 23, 2019

There wasn’t a cloud in the sky on the bluebird day that Jameson and Lamar exchanged vows. It was as clear as the love they have for each other - which was only enhanced by the natural surroundings and specially designed decor for the day. Altogether, it was truly divine.

With a wish of saying their vows under a wood ceremony structure adorned with lush florals, Jameson and Lamar worked with Fairbanks Florist to create the perfect backdrop that paired strong simplicity with delicate beauty.

Lana knew this structure would need to be created by hand to devise the right look so she canvassed her husband, Art, to help her do just that. His fine skills in construction resulted in exactly what the couple desired. The structure made for an effortless outdoor ceremony altar that boasted pink and white florals accented with greenery leaves.

The arch came out just perfect, says the couple.

Complementing this artistic piece were two large floral arrangements on unique wrought-iron pedestals that greeted guests at the back of the aisle. The bride’s and bridesmaids’ hand-tied bouquets consisted of soft pink roses, miniature white roses, white hydrangea, and white anemone flowers, all highlighted by light greenery leaves. Lana especially loved making the bride’s hairpiece - an organic touch to her beautiful look.

Inside Interlachen Country Club, Jameson and Lamar’s reception glowed with specialty lighting behind the band and candlelight centerpieces at each table. Using gold metallic candle holders positioned on top and around loose floral and greenery as well as gold containers holding complementing ceremony floral, the look was sweet and romantic. Just like their love.

“All of the flowers came out so amazingly beautiful.  They were exactly what we had talked about but even better than [we] could have imagined.” - Jameson and Lamar

A Garden Fantasy: Jenna and Lee’s Romantic Day

January 13, 2019

One may think that designing a gorgeous wedding day must consist of interviewing a variety of floral designers, scheduling a plethora of meetings throughout the planning process, looking over multiple mock-ups, and then selecting the exact flowers and look for the day.

Sometimes, that is true.

And sometimes, it is not.

When it came to planning the floral romance and swagger of Jenna and Lee’s most special day at Bella Collina, it was anything but conventional. And it made all the difference.

After receiving a rave referral from a friend, browsing over top reviews, and loving the pictures online, the sister of the groom called Fairbanks Florist and booked Lana and her team without Jenna and Lee even meeting her!

Throughout the planning process, Jenna sent Lana inspirational concepts via photos and Lana then interpreted the concepts into a unique look just for them - without meeting or speaking with each other until the week before the wedding.

It may seem surprising to some not to meet with your wedding florist until the day of your wedding, but because Jenna and Lee trusted Lana to select the best quality flowers available and create a design that was inspired by their likes, but yet distinctly their own, Lana was able to make exquisite floral arrangements that exceeded all their expectations.

The bridal and bridesmaid bouquets consisted of white anemones with rich navy hued middles, burgundy scabiosa, seeded eucalyptus, smilax, Brazilian berries, and roses. They were whimsical garden bouquets with delicate pops of stunning color. The groom and groomsmen donned white rose boutonnieres.

For the ceremony, two large garden arrangements consisting of antique green hydrangea, smilax, roses, lisianthus, Italian ruscus, eucalyptus, and dusty miller created a beautiful altar area.

A variety of round and rectangular reception tables held lush garlands of greens with white roses interlaced throughout and the sweetheart table was absolutely breathtaking with the ceremony arrangements on either side, dripping garland on the table, candlelight and gold accents. Complementing the bridal bouquet, the cake showcased delicate decor. The reception simply glowed throughout the garden as guests dined among the candlelight. It was a night to remember.

This wedding was the epitome of romance and to imagine…not one in-person meeting to make it all happen! We think that adds to the magic of it all.

For the Love of Flowers: Jenna and Stephen’s Stunning Soiree

January 12, 2019

There is no denying it…Jenna loves flowers.  And pairing that love with the love her and Stephen share was nothing short of magical when it came to their wedding on January 12, 2019 at The Alfond Inn.

The couple, who met in dental school and share a new practice, knew from the start that they envisioned a timeless, clean, yet modern look. It would be all white flowers with no greenery.

Lana and their wedding planner, Andrea Grier of Weddings Unique, knew it would turn out to be the perfect choice for their garden backdrop as the white contrast within the greens of nature would be breathtaking.

And it was.

Jenna and Stephen’s ceremony design was dramatic.  The women all carried lush complementing bouquets to accenting the overall look. Large planters filled with tightly packed white hydrangea welcomed guests at the beginning of the aisle and a large square arch at the altar with matching packed white hydrangea and roses was the piece de resistance - the perfect structure under which to say “I do!”

This structure was a quite a feat for the Fairbanks Florist team and one which would only get more purpose as the wedding continued.  Designed to be taken apart in three sections, this skillful design allowed the square arch to be transitioned into the ballroom for the reception.

Boasting itself behind the sweetheart table and providing an exquisite vignette for the wedding cake, this hydrangea-packed arch donned hanging crystals and candles with romantic drapery created behind it by Swag Decor for the reception - a complete wow for the couple and the guests!

To complement this jewel of the reception, tablescapes consisted of white hydrangea and roses, uniquely detailed glass and candle pieces, as well as mirrors and crystals to give just the right amount of sparkle.

The overall look was sleek, buttoned-up, and modern - yet, it all has a classic feel that will be awed for years to come.

The Air of Romance: Julianne and Garrett’s Isleworth Country Club Wedding

April 14, 2018

If there is one thing that we remember about Julianne and Garrett’s April wedding at Isleworth Country Club, it’s the sweet romance that filled the air from dawn to dusk. Julianne and Garrett chose a pink, ivory, and natural greenery palette that Lana created a design board for - inclusive of open garden roses, peonies, and hydrangeas. Julianne’s handtied bridal bouquet was filled with pink garden roses and peonies accented with loose greenery for a soft touch. Julianne’s Bridesmaids wore blush pink dresses and carried smaller versions of Julianne’s bouquet. The Bridesmaids also wore delicate floral halos - perfect for the outdoor garden ceremony!

Stunning blooms on grand pedestals and a framed welcome mirror greeted guests as they took their seats along the rose petal aisle for the ceremony under a gold wrought iron arch adorned with flowers and greenery. After the vows, Lana and her team redesigned the ceremony flowers to bring the beauty inside. A lush sweetheart table splashed in pink light and surrounded by the garden flowers with greenery accents made a stunning impact in front of the fireplace. The mantle was adorned with candles and a custom faux botanical monogram which the couple commissioned for their home after the wedding.

Planned and coordinated by Michele Butler, from Michele Butler Events, the wedding was exceptionally prepared and executed - making for a wedding day that “was the moment of our lives,” says Julianne. Even though the day was warm, everyone stayed calm and cool - primarily because of the extraordinary planning and efforts of Michele. Michele is a consummate professional and remains joyful and positive throughout the entire pre-planning and day-of coordination process. It is truly a delight to work with her as she makes it seamless for a vendor (such as ourselves) to do our best work.

When it comes to romance, it doesn’t get much better than a couple that is as beautiful inside as they are on the outside, add in a beautiful ceremony overlooking the lake, highlighted by soft pink hues and lush arrangements and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a romantic wedding!
